Chair Building Workshops Now Available

Have you ever had the dream to build your own furniture?

Come tap into the vast experience of master chair crafter/builder Rory Jaros and attend a one week hands-on chair workshop. At the end of the one week workshop you will have completed your own ladderback chair! This a personal one-on-one learning opportunity.

If you have more time to spend, instruction is available to actually build your own custom fitted, ergonomically designed rocking chair. Contact Rory to discuss your skills and an estimate of how much time to allow to successfully craft your own chair.

Beginner wood skills desired but not necessary. Bring your own hand tools or use Rory's.

Tuition pricing for the five day ladderback chair workshop, including all fees and material is $695.00. This price does not include lodging. Plan to come on Sunday night so your personal instruction can begin on Monday morning. The five day workshop runs Monday-Friday. Call for pricing on the Walden Rocking Chair workshop as that class has more variables to discuss. Sliding scale pricing is available on most chair styles including rockers.

A wide assortment of lodging is available including bed & breakfast, motels, hotels or just camp under the stars in the Shawnee National Forest.

Come experience working in a natural setting with simple woodworking tools in the beautiful forest area of Southern Illinois and leave with many new skills, experiences and your own personally crafted chair.
